Foodies rejoice, A Taste of Okanagan Terroir Winemakers’ Dinner celebrates the bounty of the Okanagan Valley.

The inaugural event put on by Claus Larsen, general manager of the Best Western Plus Vernon Lodge, in partnership with the United Way, takes place Friday Sept. 26 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the hotel.

“We have brought together six wineries from throughout the Okanagan Valley, and their fine wines will be paired with six sumptuous courses,” said Linda Yule of the United Way.

The evening has been designed for the food and wine novices to the connoisseurs.

“Winemakers themselves will be in attendance to share their passion and knowledge of their wines, and chef Brian Fetterly will provide insight on the foods matched with each wine,” said Yule.

Also attending the event is one of the area’s leading wine educators, Gerrit Van Staalduinen, who is providing background on the Okanagan wine industry.
