The Vernon Vipers will take to the ice Nov. 12 for First Responders Appreciation Night.

Planning continues for the second annual First Responders Appreciation Night.

The event takes place Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. at Kal Tire Place.

“We’re expecting more than 450 North Okanagan first responders and their families to enjoy the evening,” said Beth Marks, with the First Responders Appreciation Committee.

The Vernon Vipers have donated as many adult tickets as are required and Kal Tire has purchased up to 200 family tickets for those who wish to bring their kids along

Hub Fire Engines and Equipment has donated funds toward the event, The Morning Star and Kiss FM are providing publicity and Sutton Group Lakefront Realty is providing meeting space and volunteers for the event.

“Obviously we couldn’t create this event without these generous sponsors,” said Marks.

First responders include police officers, firefighters and paramedics as well as emergency roadside assistance providers and search and rescue Members.

“Every first responder who has called so far to reserve their tickets has been very appreciative of the recognition and they’re looking forward to the Vipers game,” said Marks.

All first responders are urged to reserve tickets as soon as possible by calling 250-549-3944.
