Former Splatsin chief offers challenge

Gloria Morgan challenges people to run or walk with her during Rick Hansen relay close to Splatsin community

Gloria Morgan, former chief of the Splatsin First Nation, has a challenge for local residents and pets.

She is one of the 7,000 participants in the Rick Hansen 25th anniversary relay across Canada.

On April 3, Morgan will complete her 250 metres close to the Splatsin community or the City of Enderby.

“My challenge is for people to run or walk with me during my segment of the relay,” she said.

“For each woman, man, child and pet that joins me, I will donate $1 to the Rick Hansen Foundation.”

The foundation focuses on improving the lives of people living with spinal cord injuries, creating accessible and inclusive communities and making the world a better place.

“I will know my exact route in a couple of weeks,” said Morgan, who is also a member of the committee organizing the relay ceremony in Enderby April 3.
