The Frack Free BC organization is gearing up for what is to be a busy week.

From Wednesday, June 14, to Sunday, June 18, the group will be hosting four events around Vernon.

Starting on Wednesday, the organization will be at the 1516 Pub and Grill, for a social, from 7-9:30 p.m. Wilderness committee staff members Peter McCartney and Jason Hjalmarson will be at the pub to share a short presentation about what they believe is a fracking problem in the province, and what their group plans are to stop it.

Thursday will see the group at the Vernon Public Library for a free documentary film screening, called Fracking the Peace. That will commence at 6:30 p.m.

At the Polson Park Night Market on Friday (4- 8 p.m.), Frack Free BC will have a booth set up, in an effort to petition MLA Harwinder Sandhu to let her know of the need for the government to stop issuing fracking permits.

Finally, on Sunday, at the SENS (Sustainable Environment Network Society) EV Show at the Kal Tire Place parking lot, Frack Free B.C. will be there from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. chatting with people, while also attempting to grab more signatures for the petition.

The Morning Star reached out to MLA Sandhu for comment, but did not receive a response.
