Curt Minard’s Road To Success comes with costs.

The Vernon Para snowboard athlete, who lost part of an arm in an industrial accident, qualified for the national team in his first year of competition. Minard will now compete on the World Cup circuit with the dream of competing for Canada in 2018 at the Winter Paralympics in South Korea.

A fundraiser, Road To Success, to help with Minard’s costs will be held Saturday at The Green Pub at 7 p.m.

Entry is by donation, and the donation will give a person a chance to win one of several door prizes.

There will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 draw.

Music for the evening will be provided by the band Feet First.

Minard, who won a World Championship gold medal as part of Canada’s amputee hockey team, will compete in 2016-17 at World Cups and training camps around the globe, including the Netherlands, Austria, Finland, Spain, France, Japan, Korea, Big White, Whistler and Quebec.
