Seven North Okanagan organizations are happy to have discovered the Vernon Lions Club's mantra.
The groups were the recipient of a total of $10,000 that will support their organizations' various initiatives and services within the Greater Vernon community.
"The Vernon Lions Club is proud to continue its commitment to strengthening the community and community organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local residents," said the club in announcing the donations.
Receiving the funds were:
• Kindale Developmental Association;
• Vernon Search and Rescue;
• North Okanagan Community Life Society (NOCLS);
• Family Resource Centre;
• Independent Living Vernon;
• Salvation Army House of Hope;
• Vernon Community Dental Association.
The Vernon Lions Club is always looking for new members. The club meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Army Navy and Air Force Veterans Association clubhouse.
