Health experts speak

Health care experts will discuss how to improve quality of life for people living with advanced life-limiting illnesses in Vernon today.

The event is part of Celebrate Research week at UBC’s Okanagan campus.

The expert panel includes associate professors Carole Robinson and Barb Pesut, from UBC’s school of nursing, and associate professor Richard Sawatzky, of Trinity Western University’s school of nursing.

Debra Pool will deliver expert patient perspectives at the Vernon event where Ruth Edwards, executive director of the North Okanagan Hospice Society, will moderate.

The discussion, organized by the Canadian Institute for Health Research, the Institute for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention, and the North Okanagan Hospice Society, is free and open to the public. However, people are asked to pre-register.
