Wood heating workshop set for Killiney Beach Community Hall

There’s still time for north Westside Road residents to reserve a seat for the free Wood Heating Workshop, offered by the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

It’s being held on Thursday, Oct. 15 starting at 6 p.m. in the Killiney Beach Community Hall, 514 Udell Road.

The first 20 people to pre-register by Oct. 13 will receive a free wood moisture meter.

The session is perfect for anyone who uses a wood stove or fireplace.

Participants will learn about proper wood heating and burning techniques, purchasing and preparing your wood, tips on loading the firebox and chimney care, what EPA and Emission ratings mean and how to plan an effective wood heating system.
