Expanding education ideas is at the forefront for the Greater Vernon Museum and Archive’s education and outreach coordinator.

Steve Fleck is looking to meet and talk with people around the region who show an interest in history, culture and community.

“The Museum plans to explore and expand education ideas for people of all ages,” a release states. “Culture in Greater Vernon is the interaction between the community’s values, atmosphere or feel, education, creativity and the cultural resources of its places and the people who live or have lived there.”

An open meeting is set for Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at the museum to discuss the new GVMA Education and Culture Committee.

“Now is an exciting time to envision the cultural identity of our community. Opinions and ideas matter.”

Those unable to attend can email their input, questions and requests to fleck at steve.fleck@vernonmuseum.ca or text 778-212-7182.
