A group focused on young professionals is looking for new members.

JCI Vernon is hosting a familiarization event Sept. 29 at Lake City Casino.

“This is a perfect opportunity to mingle with other local young professionals and get to know more about one of the best networking and personal development organizations for young people in our area” said Marc Gobeil, membership director.

JCI Vernon is a group of professionals in their 20’s and 30’s that provides leadership and development opportunities to its members.

Some of the chapter’s main community projects are:

• JCI Service in Style Hospital Gala – an annual fundraiser for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

• Good Citizen of the Year – an annual award that is given out to a citizen of Vernon.

• JCI Funtastic Ticket Fundraiser – raising money for the chapter while giving back through the Funtastic Sports Society.

“We also have monthly training sessions, networking events, national and international conferences,” said Gobeil.

JCI Vernon is a part of Junior Chamber International, a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs with over a half-million members, JCI senators and senior members in more than 100 countries and territories around the globe.
