The Kalamalka Rotary Club has started its annual canvass for goods and services to be sold at the Dream Auction Nov. 15.
“We have almost 90 members who will be out seeking donations of goods and services to sell at the Dream Auction,” said Greg MacKinnon, president of the club.
“This is our 30th anniversary auction and we’re hoping to make it the biggest and best ever.”
As part of planning for the event, Kal Rotarians work during September, October and November.
“It’s a huge amount of work bringing in the donations, sorting and cataloguing them organizing the Dream Auction banquet and selling tickets,” said Neil Perry, event chairperson.
It’s expected the 450 available tickets for the event will sell out in less than a week.
“Dream Auction has developed into Vernon’s premiere fundraising event,” said MacKinnon.
“We’re enormously grateful to all of the businesses, professionals and individuals who donate each year as well as the wonderful supporters who bid on all the items.”
Since its inception, the Kalamalka Rotary Dream Auction has raised more than $2 million and has been able to support hundreds of projects in the community.
