Kindale puts even more fun into fundraising at the sixth annual Spring Fiesta by teaming up with Cheek to Cheek’s Dancing with the Vernon Stars.

This year, for the first time ever, the nine celebrity couples who will be competing in the 2013 Dancing with the Vernon Stars, a North Okanagan Hospice Society fundraiser, will be unveiled at Kindale’s Spring Fiesta, Saturday, at the Vernon Recreation Complex.

Special guests Galina and Daniel Labun will perform their winning dance from a year ago.

“If you know Kindale, then you know we are all about partnerships and innovation”, said Cindy Masters, development officer.

“I am thrilled that Lorna Robb and Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio agreed to partner with us on this exciting addition to Kindale’s Spring Fiesta.”

People who attend the Spring Fiesta will be able to buy votes for their favourite couple, with those proceeds going toward Kindale’s programs for people with developmental disabilities.

The Spring Fiesta Fan Favourite Award will be presented by Kindale at the Dancing with the Vernon Stars event Oct. 4.

“I am pleased to work with Kindale and support their Spring Fiesta event,” said Robb.

“They do such great work in the community and know how to have fun at the same time.

“Kindale’s Spring Fiesta Fan Favourite Award will be a welcome addition to our event.”

There is something for everyone at Kindale’s Spring Fiesta, including dancing to The Goods, snacks from Gumtree Catering, bidding on items in the live and silent auctions, buying a key for the special treasure and a 50/50 draw.

“All of the fundraising proceeds will be used for our preemployment training, life skills training, community inclusion, recreational opportunities, and housing options for more than 300 individuals with developmental disabilities,” said B Elliott, Kindale’s executive director.

“With the support of many people, we are continuing to expand our capacity to help individuals, their families, and others in communities throughout the North Okanagan and Columbia/Shuswap.”

Advance tickets for Spring Fling are only $20 and available in Vernon at Cheek to Cheek, City Dance, Diner on 6, or the Village Green Liquor Store.

Tickets are also available from Kindale (2725A Patterson Ave. in Armstrong) or call Cindy @ (250) 503-7975.

If the event is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door for $30.
