Library hosts reopening

A celebration is being held Saturday to mark the end of restoration work at the Vernon branch

The public is invited to the grand reopening of the Vernon branch of Okanagan Regional Library.

A celebration is being held Saturday to mark the end of restoration work after a flood damaged much of the main floor.

“Everyone is invited to come down and join the festivities,” said Michele Rule, with ORL.

The event will include story time at 10:30 a.m., the announcement of the winners of the Big Orange Story Tent and adult short story and poetry contests at 11 a.m., and a ribbon cutting at noon.

“Refreshments will follow thanks to the Vernon Friends of the Library,” said Rule.
