Local businesses Outdoor Discoveries and Pooch Partners are seeking votes to become finalists in the provincial Small Business B.C. Awards.

Outdoor Discoveries is nominated for the Best Green Business Award. This award recognizes a B.C. business with an outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability through leadership and actions that influence green practices.

Pooch Partners is up against 70 businesses across B.C. vying for the Premier’s People’s Choice Award.

This new award will go to the B.C. small business that can prove they have the support of their community by gaining the most votes.

In order to move on in the contest as a top 10 finalist, Outdoor Discoveries and Pooch Partners need to gain as many votes as possible on the Small Business B.C. Awards website – www.sbbcawards.ca  – by Nov. 30.

The top 10 highest voted nominees will be announced as finalists Dec. 13, then go on to submit an application which judges will use to decide the top five finalists from each category, announced Jan. 31.

The winners will be awarded at the Small Business B.C. Awards Ceremony Feb. in Vancouver.

All awards winners will receive the Premier of British Columbia’s Prize of $1,500 cash, a one-year all-access pass to Small Business B.C. education and experts, as well as business mentorship opportunities.
