Locals headline Armstrong’s Music in the Park

Jessica Ramsay and Brandon Schmor perform in Memorial Park Friday

Two alumni of Our Kids Have Talent will show off their talent in Armstrong tonight.

Jessica Ramsay and Brandon Schmor headline Music in the Park at Memorial Park.

Ramsay is a self-taught pianist as well as an accomplished guitarist of nine years, and sings 24-hours-a-day.

She has competed in Our Kids Have Talent for the past three years, and has received very high marks from the judges, and accolades from a very appreciative audience.

While she has a number of original tunes, Ramsay also masters songs of those musicians she admires like Sara McLaughlin.

She will be playing for 45 minutes starting at 7 p.m.

Schmor, 17, is very passionate about music.

He has a collection of 25 pianos he has saved from the trash, and he loves to repair and restore them back to playable condition.

Schmor’s musical style ranges from gospel and swing, to blues and rock and roll; his favourite is the sound of the old honky tonk pianos.

Schmor has also competed in Our Kids Have Talent, and has been in the top 10 twice with a third-place win for 2010. He is the ultimate performer and loves to be on stage giving the audience a fantastic performance every time.

He will play from 8 to 8:45 p.m.
