There’s some retail good news for residents of the Lumby area.
The Fields store on Vernon Street will remain open after Vancouver-based FHC Holdings purchased 57 Fields retail outlets in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories.
“Fields has been an integral part of many communities across Western Canada for many years,” said FHC president, Jason McDougall.
“Our team is very excited at the prospect of serving the 57 communities in which it has acquired stores, and will work to ensure people continue to be able to get what they need in their local communities.”
The Hudson’s Bay Company, which owned Fields, announced earlier this year that it was closing 167 Fields stores this year.
Fields in Armstrong is becoming the Bargain! Shop after the discount store company announced it will acquire 10 retail locations from HBC.
