MC College helps Nepal

MC College is donating 50 per cent of all salon and spa proceeds from Tuesday to the Canadian Red Cross

Vernon’s own MC College is doing its part to raise support for victims of the Nepal earthquake.

A massive earthquake struck near Kathmandu, Nepal recently, causing widespread devastation.

To help, MC College is donating 50 per cent of all salon and spa proceeds from Tuesday to the Canadian Red Cross, Nepal Region Earthquake Fund. All eligible donations made by May 25 will also be matched by the federal government.

“This earthquake struck in a highly populated area, resulting in a significant humanitarian impact,” said Hossam Elsharkawi, director of international emergencies and recovery for the Canadian Red Cross. “Shelter, water and health are urgent priorities and we continue to work with local authorities to make sure that people get the help they need.”

Funds will be raised at all seven MC College locations across Canada, including Vernon.
