Movember support grows

Great West Equipment is putting its money where its Mo is to raise funds for men’s health initiatives

Staff at Great West Equipment in Vernon are joining the B.C.-wide company in raising funds for men’s health initiatives with moustaches on their trucks and equipment as well as their own faces for Movember.

Great West Equipment is all equipped for Movember.

The B.C. company is putting its money where its Mo is to raise funds for men’s health initiatives.

Across the province, Great West Equipment has 10 locations, including Vernon. All are supporting the cause with moustaches on their trucks and traces of moustaches on their faces.

“You may have seen the trucks on the road with the big blue moustaches,” said Maggie Hyatt, with Great West in Vernon. “These are in place to raise awareness about the cause and the company’s involvement with the well-known Movember challenge.”

The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health. The Movember Foundation challenges men to grow moustaches during Movember (formerly known as November), to spark conversation and raise vital funds for its men’s health programs.

The Movember community has raised $574 million to date and funded more than 800 programs in 21 countries. This work is saving and improving the lives of men affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health issues.
