Mural open to public

Portraits of Honour mural opens to public at Vernon Army Cadet Camp Wednesday

The public can view the Portraits of Honour today at the Vernon Army Cadet Summer Training Centre.

The 40-foot mural shows the faces of the 157 Canadian military who died in Afghanistan,

Visitors are asked to park in the lot to the west of Highway 97 and walk to Dieppe Square where the display trailer will be situated. People should be seated by 6:05 p.m. for the 6:15 p.m. ceremony.

The display will be open until 8:15 p.m.

The mural, which was painted by Dave Sopha, is travelling across Canada to raise funds to support injured soldiers and the Military Families Fund.
