What's Christmas in the North Okanagan without Christmas lights and a Vernon-based realtor named John Christmas?
The North Okanagan Neurological Association (NONA) has teamed up with the realtor for the NONA Lights for Kids with John Christmas Light Tour, which runs Dec. 1-31.
The tour maps will go live Dec. 1 at www.johnchristmaseveryday.com so families and holiday fans can follow the tours in Vernon, Coldstream, and Armstrong.
“We are thrilled to officially launch the tour maps for this year's event," said Christmas, owner of John Christmas Real Estate Group. "The NONA Lights for Kids with John Christmas Light Tour has become a beloved holiday tradition, and we encourage everyone to grab a map, hit the road, and enjoy the lights while supporting a great cause.”
Helping to kick off the festive holiday season, a community barbecue and photos with Santa take place at NONA (2802 34th St.) on Friday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Bring your family and friends to enjoy an evening of food and holiday activities, such as writing letters to Santa, by-donation barbecue, hot chocolate, juice and water, prize giveaways (including a $250 gift card to Teeter Totter Toys, goodie bags, bonfire and heated outdoor eating area.
"We are so excited to bring the community together for this event as part of the NONA Lights for Kids with John Christmas Light Tour," says Helen Armstrong, NONA executive director. "It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the season, enjoy family-friendly activities, and support our programs that benefit local children."
This initiative helps raise awareness and funds for the NONA Child Development Centre’s programs, supporting children with developmental challenges.
The light tour maps highlight the best and brightest Christmas light displays across the North Okanagan, providing a magical experience for all ages.

• Vernon Map – Discover the twinkling lights and stunning displays throughout the city;
• Coldstream Map – Enjoy a scenic route through Coldstream’s beautiful, decorated homes;
• Armstrong Map – Experience the charm of Armstrong’s holiday spirit with this self-guided tour.
The NONA Lights for Kids with John Christmas Light Tour runs from Dec. 1 to 31 and is a big part of the holiday festivities in the North Okanagan.
