North Okanagan residents dug deep to give new babies a healthy start.
Thursday’s Sun FM Have a Heart Radiothon raised almost $56,000 for a new incubator at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
“I’m overwhelmed with our amazing community, the individuals and businesses who made a difference,” said Brian Martin, morning show co-host. “It’s one of the rare moments when I’m speechless. It was an incredible day.”
This was the ninth annual radiothon.
“This is a very special event where families come and share their stories,” said Betty Selin, morning show co-host. “Children see their parents giving back to the community which creates this amazing cycle of giving. Radiothon is just one more reason I love living in Vernon.”
