OC kids also going door-to-door

One group of North Okanagan students will be doing a trick-or-eat, collecting non-perishable food items this Halloween.

Some ghosts and goblins won’t be looking for treats when they come knocking Monday.

Instead, one group of students will be doing a trick-or-eat, collecting non-perishable food items this Halloween.

SIFE Okanagan (Students In Free Enterprise) will be going door-to-door between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. asking for donations to the local food bank.

The effort to find a lasting solution to hunger relief, and raise awareness, is part of SIFE’s Let’s Can Hunger Challenge – sponsored by Campbell’s Soup.

If you wish to participate by donating non-perishable food items and would like the students to visit your area, contact Brittney Weatherill at brittneyweatherill@gmail.com.

SIFE is a non-profit, student organization operated out of the Okanagan College campuses in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, and Salmon Arm. The SIFE program encourages students to address relevant economic, social and environmental issues by empowering others to improve their quality of life and standard of living. Teams do this by implementing socially responsible outreach projects that have a notable impact on a specific need and target audience in their community.
