Local residents can learn more about issues surrounding hospice palliative care.
The North Okanagan Hospice Society will hold a discussion about current trends in palliative care and the Supreme Court of Canada decision on physician-assisted death Sept. 16.
“Hospice palliative care is a topic that is on the minds of Canadians,” said Ruth Edwards, NOHS executive director.
The presentation will be facilitated by Ross Waddell, who is an advisor to the B.C. Hospice Palliative Care Association and regional hospice palliative care organizations in B.C.
Waddell is co-founder of the Canadian Centre for Death Education, a philanthropic partnership of professionals who offer research and education on death, dying and planning for care.
The session begins with NOHS’ annual general meeting from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and then Waddell’s presentation from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Schubert Centre.
