Photo contest focuses on parks

Capture your favourite moments in provincial parks this summer

Capture your favourite moments in provincial parks this summer for a chance to have your photo featured by B.C. Parks.

To celebrate its brand-new arrival on Instagram, B.C. Parks is looking for beautiful, adventure-inspiring and fun-filled photos from park visitors throughout the province.

Whether it’s camping at your favourite spot, hiking with your family or enjoying a magical sunset, B.C. Parks wants to see your favourite shots.

“We know people are passionate about their parks, and love capturing special moments with family and friends,” said Environment Minister Mary Polack.

“Whether it’s camping, hiking or enjoying a picnic, be sure to share your favourite photos for a chance to be featured on B.C. Parks Instagram. We hope this helps encourage people to get outside this summer and enjoy nature in one of B.C.’s many beautiful provincial parks.”

Every week, the government will share a B.C. Parks Fan Photo on its Instagram account, @yourbcparks.

For your shot to be considered, tag B.C. Parks and use the hashtag #BCParks.

Be sure to follow along on Instagram, and the government’s other social media channels – Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and the B.C. Parks blog – for regular updates, and to see some of the pictures along the way.
