It’s approaching like a Scottie Scheffler wedge shot into the greens at Augusta.
Right on target.
The sixth annual Vernon Lions Club Charity Golf Tournament and Auction Fundraiser in support of Easter Seals Camp Winfield in Lake Country goes Sunday, May 26, with a 2 p.m.m shotgun start at the Vernon Golf and Country Club.
Players, teams, and sponsors are still muchly needed for the fun, popular event.
“Your participation goes a long way to funding a beautiful and safe environment for those in our community with special needs to make memories that will last a lifetime,” said Michele Materi-Baker, a spokesperson for the tournament who has been with the Vernon Lions Club for seven years.
All proceeds from the tournament go to Camp Winfield, an Easter Seals fully accessible facility for children and adults with physical and cognitive abilities.
Every summer the camp environment with very few limits puts smiles and laughter on the faces of hundreds of raucous, happy campers.
The golf tournament is a fun 17+ hole (course upgrade means everyone gets at least one par, so one plus right off the bat!) scramble tournament to help fund and support facility maintenance and improvements, and subsidizing camperships for children with special needs at Camp Winfield.
There will be putting contests, long drives and closest to the pins competition during the tournament.
Entry fee is $200 each, $800 per four-person team, and includes golf, dinner, auction prizes, and a ton of fun.
No experience is needed to play; just a desire to have fun and help raise money for the camp.
