It’s a great family event Thanksgiving Monday in Armstrong.
The fourth annual Great Pumpkin Run and Walk will take place at the Interior Provincial Exhibition grounds Oct. 10.
“Whether you want to run off your turkey dinner or make space for the meal to come, we have options for you,” said event spokesperson Carol Hill-Lonergan.
There is a five-kilometre run and both a 2.5 km and five-km walk.
Bring your dog, complete with leash and doggie bags, and your strollers for the littlest member of your family.
The event start time is at 10 a.m. with on-site registration from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Pre-registration can be done online at Zone4.ca or in person at the Armstrong Spallumcheen-Chamber of Commerce located on Bridge Street.
Cost is a mere $15/adult with participants under 16 by donation. All proceeds are divided among the Brown Bag Lunch Program, the Armstrong Food Bank and the Great Pumpkin Run and Walk.
There will be prizes for the best costume for both people and dogs, and there are post-race refreshments provided.
