Queen’s the theme for Armstrong decorations

The theme encompasses Canada Day and the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in the Countdown To Canada Day decorating contest

Using Queen Elizabeth the II’s recent diamond jubilee for inspiration, the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses and non-profit groups to take part in the annual Celebrate – Countdown to Canada Day decorating contest.

The theme encompasses Canada Day and the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

“Do you have a memory of the Queen or a royal visit to Canada?” said Patti Noonan, Armstrong Spallumcheen chamber executive director. “Decorate using memorabilia if you have it.”

The judges will be out and about Friday to choose winners in the following categories. Winners will be announced June 18:

Business: Five and under employees; five-to-10 employees; more than 10 employees.

Not-for-profit: five and under employees; five-to-10 employees; more than 10 employees.

Partners in the decorating contest include the Department of Canadian Heritage, The Morning Star, Okanagan Advertiser and Your Country News.
