Vernon Search and Rescue is there for people in need, and now the non-profit agency is looking for a hand.
The unit is holding a raffle until Dec. 15.
“Banner Recreational Products has generously donated a dirt bike to us for us to raffle off,” said Stephanie Ross, a unit member. “All money raised will go towards our search and rescue group.”
The KLX450R 2008 Kawasaki dirt bike is valued at about $9,000.
“Tickets cost $5 each and there are only 1,400 tickets being sold,” said Ross.
Tickets are available at Banner Recreational Products on 43rd Avenue.
Unit members will also be selling tickets at the Banner Recreational Products open house today, from 4 to 10 p.m., the Snow Show from 2 to 10 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Vernon Recreation Complex and the Banff Film Festival show Nov. 14 at the Performing Arts Centre.
