RDNO issues agriculture fund

Bursary supports the development of a local agriculturalist

Help is on the way for at least one local future agriculturalist.

The Regional District of North Okanagan, in co-operation with the Interior Provincial Exhibition, has created a $500 bursary.

“It’s the best agricultural fair in B.C. What better way to honor those interests in farming than with 4-H,” said Patrick Nicol, RDNO chairperson.

“The bursary will be awarded to a deserving student who plans on continuing their education in the agriculture field or a related field.”

The recipient will be announced during a luncheon at the IPE.

“These are significant events in the life of our community,” said Nicol.

“And supporting that life will help untold numbers when this person foes on to work in these fields.”

The successful applicant must be from the Region of North Okanagan District and have been a 4-H member.

The deadline for application is Saturday. For more information or to apply, visit www.rdno.ca or e-mail info@rdno.ca
