Red Cross ready

The organization is currently looking for assistance from donors and volunteers.

With Fort McMurray dominating the headlines and the Okanagan known for wildfires, the Canadian Red Cross is preparing for the summer.

The organization is currently looking for assistance from donors and volunteers.

“The upcoming fire season is expected to be a bad one and the organization is actively preparing to have all hands on deck,” said Linda Schaab, a volunteer.

“Time is precious, and the Canadian Red Cross needs your help.”

Donations allow the organization to provide support to those in needed, and that assistance is being sought from individuals and businesses.

“Volunteers numbers are also currently insufficient for the demand,” said Schaab.
