Hundreds of people of all ages attended Vernon’s second annual Repair Cafe.
People came with dull knives and tools, broken books and bicycles, children’s toys, clothing, musical instruments, small appliances and computers.
Some of the things people said were: “Most people I know don’t really like throwing things away – there is a sense of defeat when you can’t figure out how to fix something that should still have useful life”
This event was organized by Vernon in Transition, with support from the Okanagan Science Centre and the Regional District of the North Okanagan.
