The 34th annual B.C. Rivers Day takes place at Polson Park Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“This year’s celebration will feature the Biggest Bubble Contest for kids to come and try out their bubble skills,” said Janice Buick, event co-ordinator at Allan Brooks Nature Centre.

“We have a great line up of family activities around the theme of water.”

There will be activities for kids, cake, Smoky the Bear, music and cultural entertainment. Displays will include information about waterways and the Vernon Fire Zone and Kalamalka Fly Fishers will have demonstrations.

“This annual celebration focuses on the values of all water from lakes, ponds and wetlands to creeks, streams, and everything in between,” said Buick.

Along with the Allan Brooks Nature Centre,  the event is sponsored by the City of Vernon, District of Coldstream and Regional District of the North Okanagan.
