Gardeners can mark Saturday down as the day for the third annual Armstrong Rotary Club tour.

The event is as an opportunity for people to view at least eight gardens situated in Armstrong and Spallumcheen. It follows up with an outdoor luncheon at 2875 Rosedale Ave. (Jamieson household).

In addition to viewing the gardens, visitors on the tour will be able to talk to the gardeners who have created their show places, ask questions and come away with ideas for their own garden centres.

Those with tickets gather at 9:30 a.m. at the museum parking lot beside the Brown Derby where they are given maps and a booklet outlining what they will see.

Car pooling will be encouraged. You can also drop down earlier and visit the Armstrong Farmers’ Market on the IPE grounds.

The tickets are $20 and available in advance at the Brown Derby. This includes the luncheon at the conclusion of the tour.

Proceeds for this event will go toward maintenance and upkeep of the garden areas surrounding the museum and art gallery complex, a joint effort developed by the Armstrong-Spallumcheen Museum, Armstrong Rotary and Opus Garden Designs.

You can get more information from Dawn Jamieson at 546-3730 or Mary-Eileen Johnson at 546-8628, co-organizers of this Rotary event.
