The Safe Communities Unit is celebrating B.C. Crime Prevention Week with special events.

The Safe Communities Unit is celebrating B.C. Crime Prevention Week with special events.

Today, unit members will be at Spirit Square, next to Vernon city hall, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the unit will be at Belvedere Park, in Enderby from 10 to 11 a.m. and at Askew’s Foods in Armstrong from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Residents can attend What Everyone Needs to Know about Social Media by Jesse Miller at Vernon’s Clarence Fulton Secondary Thursday at 7 p.m. This event is free.

On Friday, Miller presents a social media education awareness session for professionals working with youth at 8:30 a.m. at the Schubert Centre. The cost to attend is $10 per person. To register, e-mail vernon@cmha.bc.ca with Jesse Miller in the subject line.
