The City of Vernon has been awarded the certificate of recognition

Safety has paid off for Vernon city hall.

The city has been awarded the certificate of recognition and $61,052.80 in incentives following a 2015 audit by the B,.C. Municipal Safety Association and WorkSafe B.C.

“This is the fifth year in a row the city has received the recognition, and over the course of that time, has received $214,143 in incentives for maintaining COR status,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications officer.

“Incentive money is used to promote the continuous improvement of worker health and safety, and city compliance with WSBC regulation.”
