Salvation Army's Blue-Bag-It program underway

Cleaning out your closet can help those in need.

The Salvation Army’s Blue-Bag-It program takes place at the Village Green Centre until Saturday.

“Residents can pick up Blue-Bag-It bags from the centre mall display and sponsoring merchants and then fill the bags with good clothing,” said David MacBain, community ministries director.

“Return the bags to the mall throughout the above mentioned week, or to either one of our thrift stores (4402 27th St. or 3102 29th Ave.).”

The listing of participating companies include the Village Green Centre, The Morning Star, Sun FM, Boutique Canadiana, CIBC, JC Bradley Jewelers, Kelly O’Bryan’s, Milano’s, Teri’s Hairport, Toppers Cleaners, Valley First, Winners and Bell.

If  donated clothes need to be dry-cleaned, take the items to Toppers Cleaners until Saturday and the items will be given to the Salvation Army once Toppers has cleaned it.
