Santa's Workshop in Enderby is seeking volunteers.

Santa’s Workshop is back in business.

While there was some uncertainty about the popular Enderby event, resident Kate Fulton has stepped forward to take on organization.

“Santa’s Workshop gives children an opportunity to shop for gifts for the people on their lists – grandparents, parents, siblings, etc. – and have them wrapped,” said Fulton.

“Shopping events are also offered for seniors, teens and adults.”

An organizational meeting will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at 907 Belvedere St. (the old Twice But Nice) for anyone wanting to volunteer.

“Volunteers are needed to help man the workshop in November to accept donations and organize, repair, clean and box donations suitable for the shopping sprees,” said Fulton.

“People will also be needed to be shopping and wrapping elves for the shopping sprees.”

Fulton is also getting guidance from Jackie Pearase and Tracy Ell, who previously ran the workshop.

Donations of quality new and used items are being accepted from Monday until Nov. 28.

Good gifts for dads include tools, socks, gadgets, hunting and fishing gear, hats, sports memorabilia, barbecue gear, gag gifts and décor for the man cave or shop.

Items appropriate to donate for teens include DVDs and CDs, pajama pants, boxers, toiletry packs, funky socks, ball caps, gift cards, ear buds, lip balm and slippers.

Other gift ideas include garden tools, jewelry, household items, scarves, hats and mitts, unique décor and games.

“The volunteers also create themed gift baskets and mugs with small gifts and goodies,” said Fulton.

A drop box will be available at the workshop Tuesday to Nov. 4 for donations and Fulton will be at the site from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. each day.

The workshop is open Saturdays (Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and open 1 to 5 p.m. from Nov. 7 to 11; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 14 to 18 and Nov. 21 to 25; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 28, which is the final day for donations.

The Kids Only Shopping Spree is Dec. 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Seniors Shopping Spree is Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Teen and Adult Shopping Spree is Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Proceeds from the shopping events go toward local non-profit groups and initiatives helping children and families.
