The season of giving is paying off for some non-profit organizations.

JCI Vernon held its annual Alternative Gift Fair Saturday - where residents can give donations in the name of loved ones for Christmas.

“The fair offers holiday shoppers an easy way to buy gifts of charitable donations and to support their favourite causes,” said event co-chairperson Ute Cummings of JCI Vernon. “Each participating organization offers a variety of meaningful ‘gifts that keep giving’ in price ranges that start as low as $10. Shoppers receive cards and inserts, identifying their donations to give to their loved ones.”

Donations can still be made through the various local groups and charities in the area by contacting them directly.
