Anyone wanting to learn how to safely operate a motorized scooter can head back to class.
Vernon’s Safe Communities Unit will hold a scooter course June 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Schubert Centre.
“This course is open to seniors and others with scooters, considering scooters and family members wishing to learn more about scooters as a means of transportation,” said Ed Howard, seniors program co-ordinator.
“We welcome those with disabilities that operate other forms of ground transport such as motor assisted chairs.”
An information session will focus on the safe operation of scooters, rules of the road and maintenance.
“We then move outdoors where participants and family members may try the varying forms of pedestrian transportation that is available at the presentation,” said Howard.
The course is free and pre-registration is suggested by calling 250-550-7844.
