Shoparama sale collects donations

Shoparama runs Saturday and Sunday and non-perishable food items will be collected for the Vernon food bank.

Anyone visiting the Shoparama Holiday Gift Sale can help their neighbours in need.

Shoparama runs Saturday and Sunday at the Vernon Recreation Complex and non-perishable food items will be collected for the Vernon food bank.

“Last year, shoppers provided food and cash donations worth more than $4,800,” said David MacBain, with the Salvation Army.

Among the items needed at the food bank are school snacks, boxed grains (rice, cereals, pastas), peanut butter, pasta sauces, canned tomatoes and personal hygiene items.

Gifts will also be collected for the Kiss FM Santa Toy Club.

“Thank you for supporting the Salvation Army food bank while having fun shopping for that special Christmas gift,” said MacBain.

Shoparama runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
