SilverStar Mountain Resort now have the largest snowbase in the Okanagan.
The ski resort has had over 8.8cm of snowfall in the last 24 hours and now have a snowbase of over 108cm. The increase in snowfall has meant the Comet Express Chairlift, Alpine Meadows Chairlift & the Discovery Carpet will all be open tomorrow, Saturday Dec. 1.
The additional chairlifts will give skiers and snowboarders an additional 30 runs approximately, with a total of over 50 runs on the ski hill.
The resort will also open Tube Town today at 2 p.m. with access to four lanes and its accompanying Tube Town café serving winter treats from 11am today.
SilverStar will celebrate its annual Light Up this evening with proceedings commencing at 5pm with Christmas Markets followed by the Trail of Lights snowshoe tour, fire performance, fireworks, pyro show and a special appearance and photo opportunity with Santa Clause.
