Skating event supports affordable housing

The free family skate night goes Sunday from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. at Wesbild Centre.

North Okanagan families can take to the ice with the Vernon Vipers Sunday in support of Habitat for Humanity.

The free family skate night goes from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. at Wesbild Centre.

The event, put on by Wesbild communities Predator Ridge and Turtle Mountain, are free but donations are being taken for Habitat for Humanity.

Off ice there will be a donation draw in support of Habitat for Humanity, featuring a signed Hockey Canada jersey and a gingerbread Hockey Canada log cabin replica.

There will also be free hot chocolate and goodies, the Vipers will be available for autographs and photos. Everyone will also be entered to win four tickets to a Vernon Vipers game.

Habitat for Humanity partners with lower-income working families to build affordable homes.

There will be another free family skate for Habitat for Humanity Dec. 29 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
