Skilled training program unveiled

First Nations and remote communities across British Columbia will have access to skills training courses

First Nations and remote communities across British Columbia will have access to skills training courses thanks to CLAC’s new Virtual Classroom Training System (VCTS).

The Christian Labour Association of Canada, an independent union, recently opened the new VCTS at the union’s Langley Training Centre.

“The system is a model for how training can be delivered to remote communities,” says David Prentice, CLAC BC Director. “Our training centre will now offer a direct link to instructors at Thompson Rivers University and to remote job sites and communities around the province. These new initiatives will provide bright new opportunities for First Nations, rural, and remote communities across the province.”
