A fun new event has been rounded up for Family Day weekend at Caravan Farm Theatre.
The North Okanagan venue is hosting its first-ever Family Weekend Sleigh-Ride Social Sunday, Feb. 18.
“Experience the wonderful heavy horses and explore the magical woods and fields of Caravan Farm Theatre’s 80 acres,” said artistic director Estelle Shook. “Whatever the weather, we’ll whisk you away on a sleigh if the snow cooperates, or a wagon if spring is knocking too loudly on winter’s door.”
Bonfires will be crackling, and the concession will be serving an array of local and homemade foods and drinks: hot chocolate, Karma sodas, Okanagan Springs beer, and Okanagan Spirits Pear Brandy and Spiced Whiskey.
“Family weekend is for adults too.”
The fabled Cookshack, the artists’ home away from home, will be serving homemade chili and cornbread. There will also be hot dogs for roasting on the open fire (vegetarian chili and hot dog options available).
“What could be a more perfect winter event than to be carried away on a horse drawn sleigh, enjoying the company of your family and friends and meeting neighbors old and new,” said Shook.
Sleighs will go out on the hour between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Book online at caravanfarmtheatre.com. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for youth.
