Society pitches new board

Funtastic Sports Society names executive for coming year

The roster has been named for the Funtastic Sports Society.

The non-profit organization, which hosts a slowpitch tournament and donates funds to the community, has named its 2011/12 executive.

“I am very pleased with the team that has been elected to lead Funtastic,” said Brett Kirkpatrick, a partner at Davison Lawyers who will serve another term as president.

The other executive members are:

First vice-president —  Cindy Masters, development officer with the Kindale Developmental  Association.

Second vice-president — Sandra Simao, owner of Illusions Hair Design.

Third vice-president — Darcy Sochan, a realtor with Century 21 Executives.

Treasurer — Diana Mahortoff, senior manager in KPMG’s tax services department.

Secretary — Diana Williamson, facility administrative assistant with the Good Samaritan Society

This year, the new directors elected include  Kyla Macaulay (owner of Gumtree Catering), Mike Lane (controller with Flair Air), Akbal Mund (managing partner of Wendy’s Restaurants) and Michelle Robertson (recreation manager at Berwick on the Park).

The remainder of the board consists of returning directors Tim Reardon (owner of Tutor Tech) and Roel van de Crommenaker (product representative Innotech Windows).
