The shelter may be closed, but the BC SPCA is still supporting animals and owners in Vernon.

The agency hosts a fun family event Saturday, June 22 at the Elks Lodge from 1 to 4 p.m. where residents can learn more about the various animal welfare programs and services available to the community.

Multiple BC SPCA team members will be present to answer questions from the community, offer information about animal welfare best practices, and provide educational games and activities for kids. A pet-themed basket will be raffled away to a lucky attendee!

“It’s very exciting to have so many BC SPCA team members all together to engage with our community. So much of the work that happens in Vernon is done behind the scenes so we’re eager to chat with people about all the incredible supports that exist for animals and their humans alike,” said Nicholas Weeda, the BC SPCA’s community services coordinator for Vernon.
