Splash of Colour needs a hand

Volunteers are urgently needed for the Easter Seals Splash of Colour Fun Run April 19 at Kin Beach in Vernon.

North Okanagan residents have an opportunity to take part in a colour-crazy morning and in turn help send local kids to camp.

Volunteers are urgently needed for the Easter Seals Splash of Colour Fun Run April 19 at Kin Beach in Vernon.

The inaugural run, presented by Century 21, is raising funds for local kids with disabilities to attend Easter Seals Camp Winfield.

Entries are going well but Easter Seals is still urgently looking for more than 60 volunteers to support the event on the day.

Sign up at www.splashofcolour.ca or contact either  Tanis Yawney at 250-306-8211 or tanis.yawney@rbc.com or Kristen Wemyss at 250-938-0471 or kristen@viewhome4u.com if you are able to help.

Those wanting to take part in the run can look forward to a colourful and fun morning. A by-donation chocolate pancake breakfast will start the day at 8 a.m. thanks to the Vernon Lions Club. There will be lots of Easter-themed treats as well; chocolates, kids’ crafts, entertainment and a visit by the Easter bunny. A zumba session will get everyone warmed up before the run, which starts at 10 a.m. Run through three colour zones and come out your favourite Easter colour. The run concludes with a mass dousing at Kin Beach.

Those taking part in the run can register online at vernon.splashofcolour.ca. Pre-registered package pick-ups are April 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Century 21 (2907 32nd St.).
