High school students heading off to college or university have done their homework.

About 70 parents and students attended the recent Student Transition Enrichment Project Society presentation at Kalamalka Secondary School

“It is amazing to know that by sharing our personal transition experiences we are able reduce the stress of the transition for even just one family,” said Sam Bienias, who hosted the event with Alex Lukey, Emma Levorson and Mairead Raupach.

During the session, the presenters talked about their shift from secondary school to college or university, including living in residence, participating in frosh week, exam week and using campus resources.

Information was also provided on clubs, intramural sports and attending activities.

“Thanks to those that came out to learn more about the exciting step from high school to university and we’re excited to meet with the next round of Vernon students in 2017,” said Bienias.

The presentation received support from the Vernon Teachers’ Association and Kalamalka Secondary School.
