Summerland private school to offer summer camps

A private school in Summerland is offering two-week summer camps combining technology and outdoor adventure.

The camps will be offered at Unisus School with dates from July 9 to 23 and July 27 to Aug. 10.

The day camps and boarding camps are for children and teens from nine to 18 years of age and are designed to foster confident, creative, and entrepreneurial young people in an environment of collaboration and fun, the school says.

Camps include STEM (choice of game design or digital fabrication) and entrepreneurial streams.

The first week includes STEM/Entrepreneurship sessions by certified instructors, where students start a business and create a product. The second week is packed with Okanagan day trips and outdoor expeditions including kayaking, geocaching, rock climbing, and swimming.

The day camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for 14 days, including weekends. Lunch is included for those in day camps and breakfast, lunch and dinner are included for overnight camps.

The boarding price includes supervision, educational instruction by certified instructors, meals, snacks, admissions, accommodations, certification of completion, recreational activities and a digital portfolio.
