Super rabbits hop to region

The first Canadian Rabbit Hopping Interclub Competition will take place in Salmon Arm April 20

You’ve heard of super dogs.

Now you can meet super rabbits.

The first Canadian Rabbit Hopping Interclub Competition, Calgary vs Vancouver, will take place in Salmon Arm April 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Calgary’s Canadian Rabbit Hopping Club will compete against the Vancouver Agility Club in the first-ever interclub event.

“Whether you have seen the super dogs or not you will not want to miss these rabbits race through hoops, tunnels and over jumps,” said event spokesperson Rob Fensom, of Salmon Arm. “The whole family will enjoy this new attraction.”

The event is being held at Harmonious Homestead, located at 5421-70th Street SW in Salmon Arm.

Farm tours will be held throughout the day as well. The interactive tour will teach people about rabbits, chicks, lambs and baby goats.

The cost is $7.50 per person (cash only) at the farm gate and that includes all events and displays. The Flocks Trough restaurant will be open in the Mt. Ida Hall, serving sausage on a bun and soup.
